For the size of Tulsa its coffee scene is surprising. My first time visiting Tulsa my friends took me on a coffee crawl and now that I know the scene even better I figured it was time to put together one of my own. There are lots of solid coffee shops in Tulsa but these four coffee crawl stops are all roasting their own coffee in their shops. Plus, four stops should be enough to get you sufficiently caffeinated for the day (hopefully) but if not just do it again!
Topeca was one of the first roasters in Tulsa. They pride themselves on the bean to cup coffee experience. You can also take classes at Topeca, including one on how to roast your own coffee. They have two locations but I recommend the one in the Mayo because why not have your coffee while sitting in a historic building?
Double Shot Coffee Co
The people over at Double Shot are serious about coffee. They are one of the only coffee shops/roasters in Tulsa that offer a medium bodied roast. The owner prides himself on finding unique coffees and showcasing them to perfection. While I was in Double Shot one day I had the opportunity to try an espresso roasted from beans grown in Nepal, which is not typically known as a coffee region (at the time of this writing they are the only coffee shop in the US to have coffee from Nepal). Definitely try their espresso (maybe as an Americano) because at a place called Double Shot you're going to want to try espresso!
These guys do fantastic coffee creations. In the past they have featured burnt lavender, Mexican mole, and an Oreo topped coffee. Be sure to see what they are currently brewing up over at Cirque.
Fair Fellow Coffee
Tulsans love light roast coffee and the guys over at Fair Fellow are doing it better than anyone else. While you're there be sure to try their Nitro Cold Brew, it's super smooth and full of flavor, definitely a crowd pleaser!
There are other decent coffee shops that could easily be added to the list but these four shops are all roasting their own coffee and are therefore my top recommendations for a Tulsa Coffee Crawl.
Or if you are hyped up on caffeine and need to burn it off in nature here are some suggestions for where to go!
