Alamogordo is hot, like painfully so in the summer. So here are some places to cool off with various forms of ice cream. Enjoy!
Frozen Custard at Caliches: This is by far the best thing on this list, their frozen custard is the jam. It even made my list of best places to eat in Alamogordo (check out that post here).
Gelato at Plateau Espresso: I moved here from Italy so I was far to skeptical to try the gelato (though I wish I would have), some people say it’s great others say it’s not. You can try it and let me know your thoughts in the comments section (their gelato is also available in Lowes but their regular coffee shop has a much better view).
Ice Cream at Patrons Hall: I wouldn't say this is anything exceptional but if you are just craving a standard ice cream then this is your place. As a bonus tip I recommend going when they have live music!
Frozen Shake at Natures Pantry: I can recommend the almond or the coffee shake from experience, both are made with frozen yogurt and both are delicious! (This also made my list of The Best Places to Eat in Alamogordo)
Frozen Yogurt at You Top it: I never ate here because I was far too obsessed with Caliches but it seems like your standard pick-your-own-topping frozen yogurt place. If you go let me know how it is in the comments section.
Frozen Apple Cider from The Old Apple Barn: Kind of painfully sweet for my taste but if you like super sweet things you will love its, plus it's cold which is always a win on a hot day.
Slushee at Jam-ing Hot Dogs: I never stopped here but their sign always looked enticing on a hot day (which was like every day), so let me know how it is!
Ice Cream at PistachioLand: If you take the tour you can get a free scoop of ice cream, not a bad deal for a $2 tour. If you want to read more about PistachioLand check out my post here!
