Are six donuts too many for a one day? Maybe, but you can do it, I believe in you!
Tulsa has a crazy amount of donut shops, it's a wonder this city isn't fatter. I've taken it upon myself to weed out the best of the best (a tough job I know) and I've compiled the top six here for you. So here is the Tulsa Donut Trail...aka, the best way to spend your next Saturday morning (oh, and there is a Google map at the bottom if you need help finding them).
Stop One: Browns Donut Shop
This donut shop is one of the top rated donut shops in Tulsa so I had to see what the hype is about. I tried the devils food donut and it was in fact delicious.
Stop Two: Daylight Donuts Supershop
These donuts are probably the least tasty on this donut crawl but daylight donuts is a staple of Tulsa and therefore this is an essential component of any good donut crawl. (Plus this one has the classic Daylight Donuts sign that you can use in your sweet Instagram post.)
Stop Three: Merritt's Bakery
This one is my personal favorite because I think everything from Merrit's is delicious. My go to donut is the.chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips, it's magical.
Stop Four: Pancho Anaya Bakery
In general the treats here are delicious (I personally love the filled churros) but since this is a donut crawl what makes Pancho Anaya a worthy stop is the fact that they have a build your own donut bar. You get to choose the glaze, the topping, and an added drizzle of your choice.
Stop Five: Hurts Donut Tulsa
They have an Oreo cheesecake donut that is definitely worth a try. Or any one of their other gourmet donuts.
Stop Six: R Bar & Grill
While this isn't a typical donut place their donut holes are fantastic. Sit on the patio and share an order with a couple of friends. And since you just ate six donuts (go you!) maybe have a meal and a drink to balance the whole thing out while you're here.
Or if you're wanting to get into nature to burn off those donuts here are some suggestions for where to go!
Did you make it to all six? Have a new favorite? Or have more to add? Let me know in the comments section!
